This coin is extremely huge and heavy, pure metal body! The coin weighs 13.9/14 ounces and measurements in last 2 pics are shown! The Khaki ball is an annually held Navy Event which celebrates those Servicemen/women that have achieved/advanced to the rank of Navy Chief , this ball is served as a commemoration to those individuals. There are unique rewards every year, there has been no previous iteration of this coin. So for 2019 , we have the Friday the 13th Coin. The front of the medal is littered with small details , we see Freddy with his axe/mask doing his thing with a yellow/black background , there are a few Navy markings as well.. The top edge of the coin has in small words NRGL 2019 Khaki Ball. The bottom right of the black background square has in red letters “GENUINE” with the USN anchor emblem above that, and a small # placard indicating which # coin this is (#316) – There were roughly 500 of these produced. The image graphic itself, we see the logo FRIDAY THE 13TH on the top, and on the bottom , FINAL NIGHT. On the right of Freddy is also Navy wording “Navy Chief , Navy Pride”. There is a slight 3d effect to the wording on the Front , they are raised from the surface of the coin so you can feel the grooves/bumps as you pan your finger (Photo # 5 shows this). The sides of the medal are a great thickness , and solid corners , this coin resembles the old Nintendo Cartridge shape and grooves/ridges very nicely. The rear of the medal, has 2 sections, the large top section has the names of all those who achieved the rank of Navy Chief , the bottom section is a fun little tidbit of a few DO NOTS ; finally , the Chief petty Officer 1893 labeling – 1893 was the year the Navy formed.
