VINTAGE Navy 4 Star Admiral Chief of Naval Operations Johnson CNO Challenge Coin
VINTAGE 4 Star Admiral Chief of Naval Operations Johnson CNO Navy Challenge Coin. I’m thinning out my Challenge Coin collection and need to get rid of most of my coins. There will be no Second Chance Offers as this is the only one that I have. Let me know if you have any questions. This coin is NOT a reproduction. Nor is it a Chinese knock-off done by an overstamp the process of taking an authentic coin and stamping it wax to build a mold to make knock-offs. You can generally tell these coins by their lack of detail, shallow relief, poor epoxy and paint, and overall “something is not-quite-rightness” I have served in both the Army and Air Force, in the Pentagon for senior military leaders, at the Old Guard, the Army’s Escort to the President, and for numerous units all over the world. I know coins, know what they mean both as professional mementos and collectibles. I’m not by any means the fore most authority, but I’ve owned literally thousands of coins in my collection, and will do what I can to provide you with the highest quality product and information. The size, shape, and weight of your coin will dictate the packaging and how it is mailed. I take ALL photos in natural sun light to try to best capture true color. This can make some softer. Bronzes seem almost grey and shiny gold-tones appear silver. I find the natural sun light gives the best contrast for 3d detail and preserves natural epoxy color. The counter to this is it can also cause a glare at the tops of coins with High Gloss coatings. Please support your local VFW. Thank you for your consideration.

RARE Authentic Vintage U. S. Navy NCIS Special Agent Brass Challenge Coin
Rare Original – Guaranteed Authentic – U. Navy NCIS Special Agent Challenge Coin. Unlike all the reproductions out there, this original coin is die struck of solid brass. I’ve only seen a small handful of these original NCIS challenge coins, but the copies are certainly numerous. The modern molded copies are less detailed, and often made with cheaper materials. This is one of the earliest NCIS Coins we’ve come across, and would be a fitting addition to any serious collection. I’d estimate this coin to be from the early 1990’s to early 2000’s. This coin has been used, and as such shows average wear, and two small dings on the bottom rim as shown in the last photo. It measures a hair over 1.5 in diameter. Please see our other listings, and check back often as we typically list 30-50 high-end estate items each week with No Reserve! Navy SEAL US Naval Parachute Team Leap Frogs Vintage Brass Challenge Coin
US Naval Parachute Team. Condition: Used, and in good shape. The coin is 1 1/2 inches in diameter. United States Navy Parachute Team “Leap Frogs”. The primary mission of the Navy Parachute Team (NPT) is to support Naval Special Warfare recruiting by gaining access and exposure to appropriate candidates through aerial parachuting demonstrations. Navy Parachute Team is a fifteen-man team composed of U. Each member comes to the team for a three-year tour from one of the two Naval Special Warfare Groups located on the east and west coasts. On completion of the tour, members return to operational units. The parachute team began in 1969 when Navy SEALs and Frogmen volunteered to perform at weekend air shows. The Team initially consisted of five jumpers: LCDR Olson, PHC Gagliardi, SK2 “Herky” Hertenstein, PR1 Al Schmiz and PH2 “Chip” Maury. Schmiz and Maury were members of the original Chuting Stars. When LCDR Olson was transferred to California, PHC Gene “Gag” Gagliardi (D 546) of UDT ELEVEN introduced him to the local jumping elite with the San Diego Skydivers, one of the nation’s first sports parachuting clubs. He convinced the Commander Naval Operations Support Group, PACIFIC to create a small demonstration team consisting of a cadre of highly qualified freefall jumpers. This group eventually adopted the “Leap Frogs” name. The team was officially commissioned as the U. Navy Parachute Team in 1974 by the Chief of Naval Operations and assigned the mission of demonstrating Navy excellence throughout the United States. The East Coast-based “Chuting Stars” were disbanded in the 1980s with the “Leap Frogs” taking on all official parachute demonstrations within the Navy. A typical Leap Frogs performance consists of six jumpers leaping out of an aircraft at an altitude of 6,000 feet. After freefalling sometimes using smoke or streamers, the Leap Frogs fly their canopies together to build canopy-relative work formations. After performances, the Leap Frogs make themselves available to the public to answer questions about the Navy and the Naval Special Warfare community, as well as to sign autographs. NOTE: Never personally given any of the coins. All coins are guaranteed to be in excellent condition unless specified above. The free listing tool.
